Need help in rebutting why to get a PC over a console - Page 3

I thought the OP was saying, in a nutshell.

" I spent too much on computer parts so my games look pretty, but now i want a console so my games look like everyone elses... "

Why are there people still dropping in this thread to leave behind some argumental fesces?

a perfect example... i build this machine for a shade under $250. PS3 is $299.

PC are more reliable than consoles if you don't push the hardwares.
PCs only have BSOD if you overclock to high and it gets unstable.
Console hardware have stability problems at stock speeds (RROD,etc)

pc gamers only invest in their machine once and it last at least a console cycle. (because we buy high quality premium parts)
console gamers often have to buy more than one consoles because of various hardware problems. (they use cheap parts to minimize cost)

plus there are a lot of things u can do on a powerful PC such as audio/video editing...

this is not true if you are smart with your wallet and video game buying and can wait for price drops or sales. why people here keep putting this clearly untenable point is beyond me.

maximus III formula
1.5 TB hdd

The problem that I am facing is that I am not very rich and I am having to upgrade my pc every 2 years to play the latest games in decent settings. I am planning to buy a ps3. What do you guys have to say about this?

How could i rebut this?
~ps4 is coming out.
~PC games are cheaper
~You don't have to buy the latest and greatest games. Many of the best games are older games that are incredibly cheap now.
~Steam sales

If we're going secondhand...

You can buy a Xbox 360 for under £100 if you shop around (I know because I've done it for the one I'm currently modifying, mine cost me £90 with HDD).

Realistically though the OPs PC should be more than enough. No point in buying a console over it unless all your friends own consoles and you want to game with them.
