AsRock motherboard - Page 4

To me it seems that the p67 extreme4 gen3 board is an exact replica of the previous extreme4 board but with pci-e 3.0 support. Can we assume that the gen3 board will then perform as well as the previous board? Would love to purchase the new gen3 board but the thought of purchasing parts that no one has had any experience with has always scared me. Haha keep in mind I still have time before I actually purchase my parts for my sig rig so I will be able to see people's impressions of it.

Exactly. Why you would need pci-e 3.0 on this board is completely beyond me. *cough marketing *cough Not to mention you are only as fast as your slowest part.

I dunno if I'm reading it right but it says they all do x8/x8 except for the extreme7

Because it means that it will be fully compatible with Ivy Bridge unlike current PCI-e 2 boards, basically its buying a board for a chip that will be released later, like people buying 990FX for BD.

If you look at the mobo closer it says nf200 on one of the heatsinks so this mobo will be able to do x16/x16
