pentile kills the movies IMHO

I tried watchign various movies....but the contrast was horrible and in some gradients for some scenes in "let me in" you could see the induvidual pixels trying to render as brown or black and flickering because it couldn't "decide"

I would reommend a HTC sensation (true qHD with no pentile) unless you want the SGSII with WVGA (800x480)

Actually, skipping the iPhone all together would have been awesome.

I am quite excited about both the Sensation and SGSII after reading some reviews, which would be the best out of these two? and which has the best battery (I really worry about a phone dying on me as I know that will be the time I really needed it the most, call it my fear lol. I've kind of got used to charging every night with the iPhone but no more than that is acceptable)

HTC usually has lower-capacity batteries, but I think the Sensation does way better than something like the Thunderbolt and Desire HD. Both are just fantastic devices, so it all boils down to your preference. The SGS II has a beautiful Super AMOLED+ display and an improved TouchWiz 4.0 UI, while the Sensation has the popular Sense 3.0 UI and support for HTC Hub. Both are just the same in the modding department.

LG Optimus 2x is good.iPhone 4 is a bit overrated but its worth the price.HTC Desire is expensive but a lot of good features just like HTC Sense.I recommend you to buy HTC.

Thanks everyone for your advice, and after reading lots of reviews of your recommendations, the SGS2 won me over, it seems to tick all of the boxes for my requirements.

It's on its way and I should be able to know if I made the right decission pretty soon.

SGII > HTC SENSATION imo. I hear a lott that the Sensation is laggy and the most crappy HTC phone at the market. Have several friends with Sensation and they are complaining about how slow the phone is

started with the HTC Increadible S, nice phone, feels good in your hand. No major issues (2 days). Traded it in for a HTC Sensation, buggie POS. Multiabnormal restarts......like every few mins. Returned it the next day for another. Ive had a couple of abnormal resets..perhaps 3 or 4 in 2 weeks. The cam had green fuzzy lines across the screen at one point..pulling the batt fixed it. It has froze twice and needed to be restarted. At times it can be slow when first starting it up..perhaps a moment or so. Batt drains quickly, less than a day with med/high use. Calls can take some time to go through...not always, could be my provider.

That all said...LOVE IT.
buy a better batt and it will last days from what others have said. All phones have issues from time to time, this one is no different. The dual core makes it much smoother than the Increadible S when doing stuff with the phone. NO LAG EVER during normal operation. Speaker works well enough. Internet works flawless. Navigating the Increadible or the Sensation is super easy. Video playback is VERY smooth.

Nice phones each, they feel nice, look nice, and unless youve gotten a dud (happens...) the phone has been very nice to own.

Thats my two bits......

Well I got my Samsung Galaxy SII yesterday and all I can say is what a device!

My i3 laptop lags more than this and takes twice as long to do things like load up iplayer and get a video playing, its really fast, smooth and has got really good speakers and volume on it. The camera is even better than my 8mp codac digital.

As for battery, it's better than all the reviews have said. I installed the battery; which are always initially half charged; and I like to drain a battery completely then fully charge it on its first run and every few months.

I turned up the screen braightness to maximum, used dynamic moving wallpapers, turned on all the background features like wifi, bluetooth, gps, email, weather & news searching, loaded up apps that would run in the background, loaded up the maps and told it to keep finding my loacation, messed with the camera and video camera for awhile, web browsed around the ocn forum, played angry birds for an hour and still managed to watch 6 hours of fullscreen youtube & iplayer videos before it died.

I don't know about you but thats what I call extreme usage and my old iphone would have probably last about 6 hours with a full battery under this kind of usage. One other thing I noticed from all this is no matter how many things I had opened and had running I just can't seem to slow this phone down and make it lag!

I can see this lasting me two days on one charge as the screen is so amazing and bright that even at it's minimum 10% brightness I can see the screen so clearly even when it's really bright outside, so I will be leaving it at that brightness constantly, also I never use bluetooth and will rarely use GPS so their constantly off and finally i've set my emails, weather & other update searching to only check once every 2 hours.

The only annoying thing I would say about this phone is the ammount of pre-installed apps is over whelming at first and you quickly realise that you probably will never use 70% off it (also there are some duplicate programs that do the same things).

Does anyone know how to remove these pre installed items?

Sorry I didn't mean to turn this into a mini review but I am really impressed with this phone so far but we'll see how it goes in the long run.
