[Resolved] Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3-iSSD dual graphics cards...

Hey all,
Just checking, if I use 2 graphics cards (that both have the physical size of 2 PCI back panel things), do I lose 2 other PCI slots (either PCI or PCIe 1X)? The other option is I don't lose any ports, which would be awesome biggrin.gif.

Thanks

You will lose 2x space, including the cards slot. So, whatever slot your card is in, and the one below it.

Hope that helps.

Yes on that board you will lose one PCIe 1x and one PCI you use cards that occupy two slots (pretty much any mid to high end card).

Thanks! Are there any boards that allow me to have 2 PCI devices, 2 PCIe 16x (or 8x/8x - both also using the slot beneath them) and 2 PCIe 1x all plugged in at the same time? So basically this board but with one more PCI slot?

It doesn't have to have the integrated SSD, but it does need to be a Z68 mobo. More SATA ports are also nice biggrin.gif!

I'm going to do some more research myself but just wanting your ideas smile.gif.

Look into the single slot 460's.That would free up the slots below the gpu.A pair of them and you should have a good gaming rig.

I'm going for SLI Radeon 6950 2gb's smile.gif.

EDIT: Never mind I think I'll stick with my current board but just remove one of the PCI cards I was hoping to use.
