MSI Cylone or Asus DirectCu 6850?

Hello!
I am realy happy that i found this forum! I would like to stay!
I would like to know wich VGA card is better:

MSI Cylone 6850
Asus DirectCu 6850

I could also buy the gigabyte version, but the color doesn`t pass with my crosshair V formula. I plan to overclock and will try to reach 1000 MHz core!

Greetings!

Well just from taking a look at the specs, the MSI card is already overclocked, and as far as I know, the cooler is better on it as well. The question I have right now is, is there a reason you are only looking at the 6850? I'm looking on newegg, and there are 6870's that are the same price as the 6850's.

Really? I've never had anything but problems when dealing with Asus and their customer support.

If price is what is constraining you, not the card selection, you should take a look at this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102913

it's the same price as the asus 6850, BEFORE the rebate (after it comes out to be cheaper)

Reized - I don`t live in the USA and I can`t buy from newegg.

1 vote for MSI and one for Asus.

Now i saw that there is a cheap gigabyte 6870! Anybody knows how does it OC and what psu do I need for a two of them (if they are overclocked).

extr- sorry for the confusion, I didn't mean for purchase from newegg, rather that there were higher end cards available for the same or similar price.

as for the gigabyte, here's a review:
http://www.guru3d.com/article/gigaby...-6870-review/1

you said you want to overclock to 1000 mhz, but the limiting factor will be the cooler that comes on the card. guru3d got theirs to 964mhz, but you get a lot more headroom with a better cooler.

Just get whichever is cheaper - both are great cards with excellent cooling and both have voltage tweaking options. The Asus card has a 15mhz oc whereas the Cyclone has 2 versions - one at reference speeds, the other like the one i have at 860mhz. I would of course recommend the Cyclone but if your getting the Asus cheaper than by all means get that.

Well, I am looking at GV-R687OC-1GD: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/pro...px?pid=3663#sp

Hope that cooling is good, for a few $$ more I can get the super clocked edition (or the reference Asus card).

Any idea what PSU will be good for two of them?

The cooler on that Gigabyte card should be enough for a nice overclock, though I'm not sure about breaking the 1000mhz barrier. As for psu's, there are a number of ones to look at:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139015 (gold rated)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139011 (silver rated)

This --> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817194080
is what I used to use (now running an Enermax galaxy 1250w) and I never have had any problems with Enermax psu's. The Enermax also would give you some headroom, as well as gold efficiency rating. There are many other psu's that can handle your system, but those are the ones that I'd recommend.
