Internal HDD as external?

Thread Starter
I want to get a decently fast internal drive for back up and storage, but use it as an external. Now I know there are cases for them, but which one to choose.
What are some good external cases for a hard drive?

Which ever is faster. Is it possible to have eSATA and USB?

USB 3 and eSATA are basically the same. I've seen a few adaptors. Your best bet is to buy one that supports eSATA and then buy an adaptor to USB 3.

Yes. E-SATA II and USB 3.0 are the same speed. If you could find a E-SATA III it would be faster.

if you want to have the option of eSATA or USB (2.0) on the same enclosure, something like this would do:

but for pure speed, you are going to want to go USB 3.0 or eSATA, and this one has both:

I have not yet encountered an external enclosure that is "certified" Sata III internal and external connections (even though the cabling should support Sata III, assuming the drive inside does and the PC side of the eSata connector does as well)
