It's honestly overkill, but I like having the extra room just in case I can ever talk the wife into letting me go tri-sli. I haven't seen a hiccup from this baby and temps have been great. I haven't honestly looked to see if it is as efficient as Corsair states (I trust JohnnyGuru and Phaedrus.) but it most certainly does provide steady and stable voltages at where I need them. I definitely recommend the AX1200 if you plan on going big.

Edit: The only thing that I could complain about is that the AX1200 uses a pretty heavy relay for power switching, so you do hear an audible "click" when it turns on/off. Aside from that, they're cherry.

Cool! I know they are made by Flextronics and mine is made by CWT. Just wondered if there was a stark difference (wattage excluded). Thanks for the feedback!

I remember reading about the differences somewhere in the PSU forums. I did a quick OCN search but couldn't find the thread, maybe you'll have better luck. I also believe the review over at JohnnyGURU gives a quick comparison to the different OEM styles.

UPDATE:

So far I received the RMA psu from corsair to my surprise an AX850!! I was super happy just installed it earlier today. Replaced the 2 san aces on the H50 rad to gentle typhoons and also got some sick carbon fiber extensions for my system. The SSD has been running flawlessly however while in some games the system freezes up on me. When I go to event viewer I get the same old error code 32 processor kernel power management! at this point I have troubleshooted everything and so far the last culprit is the aging i7 920. I have no interest in any current no sockets sandy bridge ect. and have spent a hefty amount of money on the case aesthetics and psu and also forgot to mention I have an Asus gtx 570 Direct CUII on the way got it for a sweet price and I can finally ditch the 3 year old 4870!! In the mean time I cannot have the system hangs anymore so looks as though I will have to be looking at purchasing a new processor probably a i7 930 on the cheap its a way better chip too always wanted a D0 anyways. sorry for the long rambling allot has happen and hopefully my wallet and my system can be stable again! lol thanks for your time and help OCN

Hey ZaG,

Sorry to see you're still having that blasted ERROR 35 code popping up. I remember reading someone had suggested updating your BIOS. Have you tried that with your new motherboard yet? Based on your sig, it would be BIOS ver 83 which was released just last month.

If your motherboard model is indeed 141-BL-E757, you can download it here and flash it using a USB stick. Just be sure to read the instructions.

Other than that, I am truly stumped.

Did the bios update this board came with one from march! I am pretty sure that evga shafted me with this replacement board it seems it had more issues than my old board. I cant go past 2.9ghz on this one as opposed to the 3.9 on my previous board. at this point i am just really done I've spent allot of money already and don't want to invest in buying a new board unless it is newer technology and I have no interest in sandy bridge either. I am just going to have to deal with it and hopefully without the event 35 error freeze any more. on the bright side my 570 will be here tomorrow basically took one day just bought it Friday and it will already be here monday~

Yeah, if the BIOS update doesn't fix the ID 35's, I am definitely out of suggestions. At least this gives you a really good excuse to upgrade to SB-E/IB/BD.
