Hello i am new to the forum.
CPU Intel core 2 duo E6550
RAM 4gb 667mhz
MOTHERBOARD GIGABYTE GA-P31-DS3L
you should be able to see my specs bellow but here are some more technical info's

my ram mhz is **** no doubt about it
here is the my bios

my highest multiplier is 7
so i know what is overclock or i wouldnt be here but every time i just change frequency my cpu crashes on benchmarks so it means i am doing it wrong, also i didnt want to take the risk of changing the voltages.
so i need professional help please
appreciat the help

If it's unstable, add more CPU vcore. If you don't want to add vcore, then lower the CPU Host Frequency. Also keep in mind when you increase this number it's going to also increase the frequency of the memory.

The thing in your bios at the bottom "Normal CPU Vcore". And yes vcore is the voltage applied to the CPU.

ok but when i put the voltage control to manual from auto it does not let me change the vcore only the "CPU voltage control" and the rest.
and say i change the cpu frequency to 429mhz which would make it to 3ghz what voltages should i change it to ?

Sadly, you probably won't get far. The reason is, you have a CPU with a lower multiplier plus a CPU with a stock FSB that is what the motherboard is rated at and won't go too much higher than. In other words, you have very little headroom.

Those chipsets were okay for taking the 2GHz and under E2xx0 series CPUs with an 800MHz FSB to ~3GHz, but that's different (they had lower starting speeds/FSB and higher multipliers). I had an 800MHz FSB CPU (E2160) on a Gigabyte GA-G31-S2L board and got it to 3GHz, but a 1333MHz FSB CPU like you have (only mine was an E8400), it runs stock for this reason. I think I may have gotten it to boot at 3.6GHz (400MHz/1600MHz FSB), but I'm not entirely sure, and if so, I didn't test it or use it long-term to see how it worked that way. Temperatures will be up at increased speeds on that Northbridge, especially if you have the small and tiny passive square heatsink those usually came with. It runs warm stock as it is. So, I just left mine stock after the latter CPU was put in it.

A few things...

Your CPU-Z screen shows low voltage. this is good for that low clock speed, but you'll need more for overclocking. Just please don't tell me you're giving it the 1.6V I see in the BIOS. That's pretty dangerous for that CPU long-term. Try like ~1.35V-1.4V. You probably shouldn't need more until past ~3GHz.

Also, the Northbridge voltage, labeled (G)MCH Voltage, may need raised, but don't go crazy due to temperatures. I'd give it +0.1V or so at most.

Manually set your PCI Express Frequency to 100MHz (which is stock). Sometimes it goes up when you overclock, and it can lead to instability.

Thanks ill try this now, and my CPU voltage at 1.6 is at its stock ... O.o ?

Manually lower your voltage. 1.6V is not healthy for it for too long. Your BIOS shows 1.35V as the normal.
