9800GT Drivers

Okay, first of all I would like to know which one would run Black Ops best.

Also I would like to know if I should bother updating my drivers anymore because all the change notes just say it "helps the new 460gtx blah blah blah. (Nothing about my GPU)"

The current drivers should be fine with the 9800 GT. It is not classified as a legacy part yet. It is still a very nice card and a lot of people own them.

I'm using the latest but I don't play black ops D; I've had no issues with any of the games I do play though..

Well it seems pretty legacy to me. Even overclocked and with my q6600 oc'd to 2.7ghz, i still get pretty bad framerate, I just pretty much can barely aim 1/3 of the time with these framerates. Like when I enable /cg_drawfps 1 whenever the fps counter goes red I can barely aim. ANyone else having like sub 30 fps in multiplayer in this game. I've tried changing like every option, shadows off. Tried all the Antialiasing options. It just runs horribly.

And I've noticed even underclocking the gpu barely changes performance. But I don't think my system is really that much of a bottleneck. I'm guessing it might be the cheap PSU I bought. But not entirely sure.

266.58 gave me amazing performance and no visible issues with my 9600 GT. But, there's no reason why you shouldn't try the current ones.
