Overclocking my 2600k past 4.2ghz - Page 2

Thread Starter
I've reseated it a few times, but every time i've used AS5 TIM. I could try reseating it with the coolermaster TIM that came with the 212+, but I figured it wouldn't make more than a 1-2 degree difference if anything.

My motherboard temps start at 33C and climb up to near 40. I don't really know how to tell the ambient temp in the case short of sticking a thermometer in the case. Is there a way to do it?

Nah I believe it's more just the temperature of the room that your pc is in.

Thanks for all the help. I've gotten it up to 4.4 ghz ad stable with intel burn test (3 runs) at 1.28 volts. Anything lower and i get blue screen during IBT. Anything higher, even if i push the volts up to 1.3 is still unstable (either IBT blue screens or prime blend gets worker errors). at 4.4 my temps go up to 79 in IBT.

Yeah as long as you don't fold you should be alright if you don't mind the occasional crash, those temps still seem really high for 1.3v, maybe someone with a 212+ can verify if there is a problem with yours?

Whoa! When you set it all back to stock is it that high? What temp is "motherboard" and what are you using to monitor?

Asus AI Suite II has a motherboard temp. I did a quick search and it seems like it's a glitch and sometimes it shows the wrong temp, so i'm not too worried about it. It hasn't happened again either.
