Which GTX 570?

Thread Starter
Okay so I decided to get the 570 over the 6970, but now I'm stuck between three different 570s.

Here's the link http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007709%2060009 4002%20600095515&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&CompareItemLis t=48|14-130-613^14-130-613-TS%2C14-130-621^14-130-621-TS%2C14-130-593^14-130-593-TS

I am thinking in the future about buying another one to run in SLI as well. Would a 1000W PSU be enough?
More then enough, you really only need about 750-800 watts to power sli 570's

Go with one that has the updated pcb, the reference card is glitchy.

sfx,
Unfortunately, the link you gave doesn't work. Can you tell me which models specifically you are looking at?

I too am looking at getting a GTX 570. After all my research (and past experience) I prefer to buy from EVGA. They have a lifetime warranty on their "AR" models and outstanding customer service. The AR is the last letters of their product number. KR denotes a limited warranty - so be careful when you buy!

For the GTX 570, they offer a few different models - mainly stock and "superclocked" which is their overclocked versions. Personally I like the superclocked versions.

These are the two that I'm looking at:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130595
and
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130622

The second has a display port and is shorter (abt 9.5" compared to 10.5" of the first) and the fan is located in the center vice the end. However, the second card runs hotter and louder.

If you have the room in your case, the first one, 012-P3-1572-AR, would be best.

As for SLI, what you really need is a quality PSU, not a cheap one. You can get a good PSU that is less than 1000w and be fine. I personally have the Corsair AX850, which is Plus 80 rated and will handle two GTX570's in SLI just fine.

The thing to remember about PSUs is you don't want to cheap out! This is the thing that touches ALL of your other components. If it goes bad or sends a surge out it could possibly destroy your whole system. I never go with a cheap PSU - personally, I like Corsair and Power & Cooling (although P&C have gone down a little in quality since they were bought out).

Hope this info helps you out!!

Edit:
Oh, and EVGA has MIR going on till the end of the month!

A guy in this thread says he ran 570 sli on a 650W psu: http://www.overclock.net/graphics-ca...ted-physx.html

So that 1000W should be waaaaay more than good enough.

lol that's so irrelevant for so many reasons.

Like buying a pII 975 and think you are doing better then getting a 955...

Plus a lot of those EVGA ones might be reference cards which will have some glitches.

Dude,
evga gtx570 classified is a non-reference card, check it out in google or ask some members who own this card.
This as claimed by evga is currently the best gtx570 available in the market & will be the best overclocker among all gtx570 plus it is one of the highest factory overclocked gtx570.
