Internet TV - The Setup? - Page 2

with that in mind, understand that short of a physical connection to an antenna or dish or cable the chances of you being able to view local stations is next to nill with internet only tv....

Oh we will still have our local stations connected by cable, that's for sure. We plan to only get rid of any complete TV related plan by Concast, and only pay for internet. Local stations we have and TWC are completely free by just plugging the cable into the wall, so we're fine with that regard. We can always switch between inputs when we want to switch between local and the device.

We went this route a couple years ago when we moved the last time. Cancelled cable, bought a couple of $10 indoor antennas for over-the-air programming, and signed up for Netflix and streamed it through my Xbox 360. Now we have it through our Blu-ray player and through our Wii upstairs, too. We had Hulu Plus for a bit, but after we got through the stuff we really wanted to watch, we cancelled it. Once you are caught up on the back episodes, most of the new stuff you can watch through your web browser for free.

I'm using Hulu+ and Netflix streaming through my ps3 and a $30 phillips OTA antenna both hooked to my 30" 1080i Sanyo tube. Its pretty complete, the only things I miss are Adult Swim and Comedy Central. I can get football games OTA, new episodes of network shows on H+ if I miss them on OTA or reception craps out, and netflix for everything else.
