Hey,

Simple question not too sure if it's easy to answer though. Looking to pre-order SW:TOR but I'm really unsure as I've jumped on several MMO's over the years, (DC Universe, Champions Online (When it was pay to play), Eve, Star Trek Online, Etc) and they've all pretty much let me down. I'm a massive WoW fan. I know it's kinda hard to answer this as the game isn't out but I just want a second (or third) opinion on this. It seems like a lot of money to spend especially if it turns out to suck. I'd really like to play the game before it comes out which is offered by pre-ordering but if it does suck I will have wasted £45! I haven't paid that much for a game in YEARS!!

So do I bite the bullet and pre-order or just wait till it comes out, see the reviews and pick up based on them at a probably much cheaper price?

i say no

im not doing it for the same reason you are thinking about doing...i got Rift and other MMO's right at launch or soon after...needless to say...im not playing any of them anymore

all the fan boys/girls say SWTOR will be the best game blah blah blah...sadly only the people in beta will truely know if its a great game or not...but whats good for them may not be good for me

but at the end of the day...its your cash...but ill hold mine till after launch to see if SWTOR is really worth the entry price

Potentially saving $50+ dollars is worth the price of not being on, on release day imo.
Nobody is ever on on release day, lol. Crash, crash, crash.
In progress.

I think if you enjoy WoW you will also enjoy SWTOR. It seems like they have followed the WoW design philosophy very closely and intend to steal a portion of the WoW playerbase, similar to Rift.
