Smasher's laptop

Thread Starter
I want to sell my laptop and want to know what it should sell for.

Specs: Asus ROG G72-GX
  • Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 2.53 Ghz
  • 6GB DDR2
  • Nvidia GTX 260M
  • 17.3" LED screen
  • 1600x900
  • 320GB WD Scorpio 7200 RPM OS Drive.
  • 500GB Seagate 5400 RPM storage drive.
  • Also have a 60GB Corsair Force SSD that may or may not go with it.
Laptop has a few deep scratches on the outside of the lid but of course don't affect functionality. Will come with a fresh install of Windows 7 Home Premium x64. It's had some BSOD issues ever since I got it back in 2010. It simply does not like to be unplugged and plugged back in. I've run every stress test / benchmark I can think of and it only happens when it's on battery and is plugged back in. Battery life is around an hour and a half on power save mode.

If you leave it plugged in forever, you won't have a problem with it.
What can I get out of it?

Anyone?

Might be a tough sell with that random crashing problem. Refurbs sell for $550: http://www.cowboom.com/product/675614

I'd say $350 with the crashing and scratches ...

Probably more like $200-250 with the BSOD issue. That's a pretty big deal breaker for a ton of people.

For $300, I'll keep it and let my son use it to play Nick Jr. games on.

It's really a sweet desktop replacement. It does everything I need it to and more. It runs the Black Ops demo just fine, Source games are maxed easily. It pulls around 10k in Vantage. Just wish I could figure out the source of the problem.
