Here's a picture of my ASUS manaul where it circles the power cable

and here's the actual board where those connectors are (you can see half of it has a cover on it, not sure what that's for)

You should use all 16 pins because your PSU is only going to give out the power that your system needs and being that you have the 990X and a Quadro 5000 with 24gb of RAM. I don't think it would make sense to just use 8 pins. Especially if you are going to be doing some overclocking.

okay, it looks like it fits now. I had to take off one of the covers covering the other half the 8-pin cpu power connector on board. Sorry if my terms aren't accurate, still learning. Thank you all for the links!

Oh wait, use all 16-pins you say? I'm confused.

Okay, Thanks for pointing that out. I will have to buy another extension that means. I didn't expect to plug in so many power wires to a motherboard, of course this is my first build.

The two wires I'll plug are in this picture below. One of them has a 12-pin PSU input and the other 8-pin PSU input.

Thanks again.

This board has a lot of power potential and that's why its has 2x8pins. You are Welcome.

And about that 12pin I don't think your going to use that all you need is the 24pin main power cable two 8pins for you motherboard and the 6 pin for your graphics card
