EDIT- Went a differen method with a youtube video. Downloaded clockwork recovery, winzip, and win32. Clicked on clockwork desktop icon to open in winzip. Once opened you have to click unzip to desktop. There is no unzip buttom on my winzip, only extract. I chose to extract to desktop. Then I clicked on the win32, clicked the 3 dots to search the desktop for the clockwork IMG file and there is no file. Any suggestions?

try your hand at rooting a couple android virtual machines. with the ADK. you dont want to brick a device before you know why you bricked it.

here is a guide that looks promising. I would say root, and then once you root, install cyanogen.
