I have never seen an E8400 with a 1.35 VID. That is the highest VID I have ever heard of for any 45nm C2D or C2Q CPU.

I never said I haven't set my Vcore over 1.45.

What? THat link the CPU is at 1.55v

I guess you were right dunno what VID means but looking at HW monitor, with auto bios settings, it's saying only 1.01 volts to CPU!

hey guys, im wondering about one thing, will adding the push\\pull config lower my temps by much? Right now im at 35c idle and 59c/60c load when i overclock to 3.8 and run prim95 for 45 mins. using a cooler master haf x big tower, so should be good circulation of air. (on a side note, for this test i closed all my windows to get it as hot as possible to simulate a how a hot day here in the coooold freezing north) another side note would be that my mark is 4,0gHz but i have realize i might need a better cooler, water or something.

From a 212+, if you upgrade don't waste your money on anything less than a Silver Arrow or NH-D14.

Adding a pull fan might get you another 1-2c. See item 1 in my sig. But beware: pull fans create turbulence that can interfere with your case exhaust fan. You're probably OK with a 212+ but with something like a SA, D14 or a Mugen/2/3 you'd need to cut out your rear grill and go with no exhaust fan. The pull fan will exhaust your case. See item 2 in my sig for an example.

nice piece of info you got there. guess i wont be adding a push\\pull config just yet, i might just go for water since my cpu get freaky hot when i tried to overclock to 3.9 (63c after 10 mins of prime95). now im running at 3.8 with a maxtemp of 48c after 3+ hours of hardcore gaming

My idle temps with a Hyper212+ with push/pull fans is 47C... which is sort of sad since I have my CPU undervolted .1V. Load is around 60ish.

I guess I can blame summer heat, weather.com says 35C and I don't run AC in my house, only a couple fans in the window...

Yeah I have the situation where my case exhaust fan is fairly close to the Hyper 212+. If I add a 2nd fan to the heatsink, they'll both be pretty close to each other.

But I have 2 exhaust fans near each other, a huge one on the top and one right in line with the Hyper 212+. This should exhaust all the air, granted there will be turbulence, but the airstream thru the heatsink will be much more favorable so I'm expecting to get a small improvement. It's not going to be more than a few C but itll be worth it and fun to see.

Btw OP, I share your excitement, god was I ecstatic about the results too, amazed at the $30 I spent...
