K, follow this. Started up laptop tonight, opened terminal, ran code "lspci" that was refered from the google webcache you suggested. Got the following.

Code:
ubuntu:~$ lspci

0c:04.3 SD Host controller: Texas Instruments PCIxx12 SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller
After this, I then proceeded to place in SD card, same one that previously wouldn't show up or exist...

It suddenly worked... like magic.. (to me).

Theory... Card reader didn't work. ubuntu 10.10, next update, looked for drivers of device now attempted to be used, perhaps updated itself? And the driver? And now it works?

Cause i'm at a loss... I'm happy it works now.. but i'm @ a loss as to the how... cause for the longest time, since 9.# of ubuntu till 10.10, I couldn't get it to work for the life of me..

So somehow your help proceeded to help, i'll say that.

Well glad it works, maybe it was just a glitch and an update fixed it. =P That does happen, sadly we are plagued with similar MS "problems". =( What can ya do! haha
