This tells you how K15h/K15.5h works

You can trust him but he is the server marketing guy

Anything he says is up to scrutiny and may not be what AMD wants him to say
To us clients

2011 = anywhere in 2011

Well all of these companies need lead time for stock and manufacturing. Also, JF is a good source of help on OCN, but as he has said before, he is a S E R V E R guy, not client, thus he cannot help.

Link from a post in the tech section here.

From page #7:
"GLOBALFOUNDRIES will be unable to manufacture the company’s products on a timely basis in sufficient quantities and using competitive technologies; the company will be unable to obtain sufficient manufacturing capacity or components to meet demand for its products or will under-utilize its commitment with respect to GLOBALFOUNDRIES' microprocessor manufacturing facilities; the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan may have significant impacts on the company’s supply chain or its customers; the company will be unable to transition its products to advanced manufacturing process technologies in a timely and effective way."

This might have already had an impact, but AMD has not said it has.

Really? The whole FX thing kinda reminds me of the s939 FX-60 from AMD. Not some 20+ year old Intel chips.

x4 955 are like $80 max and x6s are easily had for $150 or less (assuming you wanted Black Editions of both)

The fact that E8400 are still $90+ and are comparable to an X2 550 BE I don't really expect the prices to drop dramatically by any means.

Either way, just made pulling the trigger on a 1155 setup that much harder.

Already explained to you what a cautionary statement is when you posted this in the other thread, it doesnt mean it will, has, should happen. Its just something that is out of there control and if it did happen it would effect their forward looking statements. They have to put that in by law.
As an example for TV Channels etc it states in most of their cautionary statements that . They have their permission to broadcast stopped, Their License revoked it would effect their forward looking statement of all running smooth etc etc. It doesn't mean all TV channels are getting their license revoked this quarter.

I know this, thank you, again. I wanted to share this in this thread, and I only speculated about a cause.

you would figure that there are enough computer dorks that work for AMD, they could have someone that works on their stuff comment on places like these, gladly and legally.

I certainly can't do anything better on a Friday night
