Weird freezing... type issue?

This has happened to me multiple times in KOTOR and in Mass Effect 1, and it's really started to get to me. I've repeated that same spot in Noveria like 10 times!

Anyways, it's not an actual freeze, because everything around me is still moving and acting normally. In KOTOR I was still able to use my A and D keys to look around, and I could click on things to move to them, but I couldn't move myself.

Same type of thing in ME1, I could look around, interact, etc, but I could not move. It's almost as if my W and S keys get randomly broken.

I've never seen or heard of this issue before, so it baffles me. It only just appeared while playing Mass Effect yesterday.

Currently on latest non-beta drivers for the 580, I brought my OC on my CPU and GPU down a little bit just to make sure, and nothing is overheating.

Ideas?

Have you tried playing with a different keyboard? Have you tried leaving the secondary buttons bound to the arrow keys? Once it no longer lets you move using the W and the S, try using the up arrow and down arrow. If those work, it sounds like your contacts are going on the keyboard, or perhaps you have some modifier keys which are "stuck" on, giving you a ghosting issue.

Good luck!

The problem with assuming it's a keyboard issue, is that I have a brand new NKRO mechanical. I would assume I'd be able to move out if it regardless. Will see what happens with the up+down keys though, I guess it could be client-side, and not my peripheral.
