p67 sabertooth MEMOK! and CPU error lights flashig

Thread Starter
so i FINALLY got my PSU sleeved, my wc setup going, and my case modded and lo and behold the new mobo isnt working. mobo turns everything on, fans, wc loop all of it, just wont display anything on monitor

at first the mem light went on

then that went off on future boots and cpu light comes on

now this cpu and 2 of the 4 sticks of memory worked on my old p8p67-m mobo so i know it cant be these as the problem

could use some help

also side note, psu fan spins for a second then stops, would this most def be a mobo issue? my other psu also had same problems so it isnt a psu issue

the hard drives have my old chipsets but that shouldnt be an issue right?

Hard drive would not be an issue. Even if for some inexplicable reasons the HDDs had problems (which they definitely would not), a defective HDD will not cause a PC to stop POSTing.

If the motherboard is bad not much you can do. I know you have a loop and it's a little bit of pain, but you can reseat the CPU, memory, and GPU. Make sure the PSU is firmly connected. If it still doesn't work you should RMA the board.

Nothing wrong with the Sabertooth, other than IMO the gimmick full cover PCB thing lol. There is a chance of DOA on any board, any manufacturer. Sorry it happened to you

Good luck with the RMA.

Yea, all the asus p67 boards are of good quality. As dopa said, there is always a chance of doa. Dont give up on the sabertooth yet. If you are still in the 30-day return period (hopefully you bought from newegg) return it to the retailer, if not you will have to deal with asus. Either way make sure you examine your cpu socket for bent pins before contacting asus. If your board has bent pins and you dont catch it, asus will blame it on you and refuse rma.

However, if you do discover bent pins, when you file rma tell asus it came with bent pins in the cpu socket. Seems alot of asus board lately have damaged sockets right out of the box.

I had P8P67 deluxe do same thing I try hitting memok, pulling the battery and I finaly got it to work by doing this. I pulled the ram out turn the pc on it started to beep. I turn it off put both ram stick back blue slots and made sure they seated. Turn it on and it post.

Good luck.

By the way all it did at first was when it was turn on. it seat their with blank screen fan and everything spinning..

Posted this in another thread I remarked in:

A failed Mobo would either

A) Not boot, fans just turn on but nothing happens

B) Boots for abit, but crashes, but the power does not turn off, it just resets the machine

A overheating comp will

A) Freeze

B) Restart over and over, but it would not lose power

C) Shut down and -REMAIN- off, it will not try to restart the machine

A failing power supply will

A) Refuse to turn on under load

B) Will turn the computer on and off and on and off because the mobo is not getting enough power/enough voltage, so it keeps cold booting the computer

C) Fails to turn on period

Your problem is turning up under power supply for both A) and C) so most likely its power supply failure or power supply contacts failure, try another one

EDIT: You said the PSU fan is not turning on, so most likely the PSU is dead

If you got a multi-meter, hook it up to the PSU and try jumping the two pins to turn it on manually, and check each voltage. You said you sleeved your cables so it sounds like a pin isn't making contact

do you have your ram in the light brown slots? i did and mobo wouldn't boot so put them in dark brown and it works
