northbridge overheating??

Thread Starter
Im experimenting with watercooling for the first tiMe right now only have my processor hooked up.... My nb temps afterwards got really high around 70c... Worked fine for a few weeks but now Im getting bluescreen on boot saying A clock interrupt was no received on a secondary processor within received on a secondary processor within the allocated time interval". Does this look likely to be the cause??? I panic alot and Im afraid it can be multiple things!!!

I'm pretty sure that's referring to the CPU (and it's cores as "secondary processors), not the GPU. Whether the CPU itself or the Northbridge (or in this case, IMC) is the cause is in the air. The CPU sounds unstable though.

weird.. I uninstalled a few drivers one of them being the updated usb 3.0, and the other just a useless printer driver.. and now *Knock on wood* Its working...I know usb is part of the mobo but I dont see how it caused processor instability????

Computer errors are a-holes

In regards to the NB temp & water cooling, when the fans are removed from the cpu cooling then we have alot less airflow around the board heatsink and ram, these tend to shoot up in temps.

My suggestion would be to find a spare 60 or 80mm fan and jerry rig it to get some airflow to your NB....
