Overclock with MSI Afterburner.

Thread Starter
Hello. Lately i have problems OC-ing my GPU. I've changed the GPU drivers and started to have no stable overclocks but in MSI Afterburner when i check Force Constant Voltage option my clocks get as much stable as before. Is this Force Constant Voltage option safe ? Can it cause some damage or other problems ?

Increasing the voltage should be fine, just make sure the card does not overheat, and make sure you stress the card to make sure the clocks you added are stable.

Before i changed drivers my OC was stable at 750core on 1.050 voltage when playing games. But after i've changed the drivers while gaming the OC is not stable anymore. Doesn't show any artifacts but instead just driver stops responding and PC freezes with only reset button option avalable My temps never go above 60*C when playing games with OCed gpu. Dunno for the VRM temps but i don't think they are much higher.

Have you tried reverting to the older drivers you were using to see if it was stable again?

I've just installed the 266.58 but still the same thing. However with Force Constant Voltage checked on the problem doesn't exist.

Is it possible that the voltage fluctuates, depending on how much the GPU is utilized? Maybe the option forces it to use the stated voltage regardless of whether you're playing a game at 100% utilization or 5% while browsing.

Naah when out of 3d it changes to 2D voltage/clocks but it seems like it makes the 3d OC voltage overall more stable. Dunno if it does anything besides that.
