No, not really. Just want something newer for bragging rights. And im sure more fps cant hurt anything

Atm i do get 30-40 fps in Crysis. All Very High, 2x aa @ 1440x900.

Been wanting to try Metro 2033. Not quite sure i could max it with the 260.

Oh and this card looks pretty sweet, nice cooler too.

What kind of games do you play? At that resolution, it is pointless to upgrade unless you absolutely need DX11 and higher AA settings...
I would say it might be overkill as previously stated...

The monitor at particular resolutions and GPU's work together as a team and making such an expensive upgrade may not see the full benefit.

You might be better off spending the upgrade money on other things such as a SSD...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102929

How well is this one in gaming? Would it be a significant upgrade from my Gtx-260 Core 216?
Just because their cards are cheaper, and have similar performance doesn't mean that the drivers won't crash on you when you really need them.

It also doesn't mean they won't fix bugs on time either.

Good point there. A SSD would be nice.

I like my computer so much i spend money on it rather then food or cigs. (Yes i went hungry for 2 weeks just to build this thing) I need another aftermark cooler for my cpu because the one i have is disappointing. Just never have enough money lol. Being a security officer blows.

I have a 4890 CF setup and I have had some driver issues. Maybe newer generation cards work better.

Most newer generations don't, and most people not in CrossfireX don't. You must not be aware of about the 3000 people on ATi's forums with BSOD and the infamous GreySOD.

It turned out to be the voltages were too low in idle on their cards, often didn't get reset to higher voltages by the drivers.

This was 9.9~10.4. That was for single 57xx/58xx users. The 5970 had major issues after about 10.5~10.6 and before 10.4 as well. 5870 CrossfireX never worked well for me till about 10.9c, after having owned two cards since 10.2's release. A 7 month of waiting for drivers to work in CrossfireX. TrifireX never worked for me.

I was also never to update past 10.9c drivers, anything higher would cause me to boot up and BSOD after loading Windows.
