Need a new keyboard - Page 2

I think he's pretty set on getting a backlit "gaming" keyboard, so I suggest the Razer Blackwidow. It's much better than the Lycosa simply because it has Cherry MX Blue switches (look in the mechanical keyboard guide for description).

The Blackwidow has backlighting.

That link is a review for the Blackwidow ULTIMATE, but the regular Blackwidow is pretty similar.

And X6 is one of the crappiest keyboard ever tried as the keyboard quality.

Even if is one of the nicest ones looking to the additional features.

If you don't want specifically a gaming keyboard, go for the Logitech Illuminated.

If you need a gaming keyboard look at the g110 or for an old reclusa.

If you want to go mechanical look to xarmor

I had the X6 for one year, I bought it because the nice form factor, the volume knob, an the good choice for the back light color, and indeed all this features are as expected, very good (it lacks just a couple of usb ports).

But the keyboard's feeling was just terrible, keys are flat, with a reduced stroke, they are wobbly and lacks a decent tactile feedback, most of the first price keyboards are better.

Then I went mechanical, but I tried the G110 and i find it reasonably good, just a little perplexed about the tiny fonts.

Before the X6 I had the Reclusa, was a bit bulk but was a great keyboard, solidly built, with encoder based knobs, a good retroillumination and a couple of handy usb ports.

Whatever you do, stay away from the Lycosa. My friend just replaced his with an Xarmor and was ready to throw the Lycosa out the window. He only had it for a month and completely hated it.

You may want to to look at things like the Xarmor or Deck 82, both are a little out of your budget however. The BlackWidow Ultimate is a choice as well but I haven't heard the best things.
