your 6970 overclock settings....

Thread Starter
how far have you pushed yours ? I'm trying to settle in on a general number to start at. I am using sapphire trixx which allows me to play with voltages. I'm fairly experienced overclocking but I've honestly never owned a video card worth overclocking and I'm curious to see what this one will do. it's the xfx reference model. my full tower has excellent airflow.

I was going to try my hand for the first time with overclocking on my two 6970s and was surprised to find that, at default, the clock and memory speeds seem pretty far to the right in MSI Afterburner already so I decided not to mess with them. I use the XFX base models as well.

920/1450 here. Runs a bit too hot for me otherwise.

sorry to bump old thread but i have contribution

975/1450 @ 1.225v

the memory really is hard to OC on any volts once i pass 1450.

gpu core will 1ghz tho but for me it needs 1425 on mem and 1.25v's and the fan noise is too loud.

max fan is 65% to be equal dBs with my case fans.

my case has no top fan, so only decent airflow, but at 1.225 it doesn't reach 80degrees in xtreme burn in on furmark.

i'm sure watercooling would make this a much better OC'er but i think 1.25 is the max air can do.
