You need to tell us what camera resolution, fps, and compression you are using.

A Geovision GV-800 card can do 120FPS.

A 2MP ip camera with 30 FPS and mpeg4 compression will use around 6.5 Mbps bandwidth (without audio).

multiply that by 16, thats about 104 Mbps.

now to record a day for that camera would require about 67 GB of hdd space.

so 67 gb x 16 cameras is about 1072 GB for a day's worth of recording.

If you are going to record on this format using these specs, It would be better to record in to a nas over gigabit lan, san over FC, or DAS (using some raid 5 or such).
