it was released on a Friday......

I bought my first mac yesterday. (MacBook Pro), and it came with OS X but a free Lion update. But I didn't have an Apple ID setup so I haven't gotten it yet because to get it I apparently need a credit card. But my DP > HDMI and HDMI cable have been great so far.

Installed on the day and I love it, just want to try airdrop with someone as I'm the only one in the house with a MBP.

I would love to test and run OSX legally... but I can't justify the price tag connected to the hardware... guess I will keep playing in Windows and Linux land...

This. A $30 upgrade is nice and all, but you're paying for the OS in a different way...

Why is this even an accomplishment? World of Warcraft probably got similar figures.

WoW probably beat it, easily. They have about 10 million subscribers. At least a good third had to get Cataclysm on day one. (Just guessing, this will probably get quoted by somebody who knows exact numbers..)

Not a bad guess Cataclysm sold 3.3 million copies, day one.
