Silent gaming rig.......
You need sound for games and that sound will drown out the noise of the computer

So why waste money on "silent" components?

Seasonic x-460 fanless, $150.
Antec TruePower New TP-750 Blue 750W very quiet, almost inaudible facing up, inaudible facing down. You can't hear it. $130.
Silver Arrow is the best cooler passive. See bottom image here.

ECO Intelligent Thermal Control System
When temperature reaches between critical point T2(Default temperature 65°C-70°C) and Tmax, fan will start to rotate. The RPM of the fan will self adjust according to the temperature maintaining a linear relationship. When the temperature descent to critical point T1 (Default temperature 45°C-50°C), fan will stop to rotate.
Features:

Fan doesn't rotate in the beginning when the power supply is switched on = Zero noise.
(Fan appears to be stationary in the beginning is normal phenomenon)
that is from the specs of the PSU. The fan is there, but it just doesn't turn on unless the PSU goes above a certain temp.

What if he gets a Seasonic X-460 fanless psu and only make case fans and cpu fan move faster when he plays games and when he finishes playing and just surfing net he turns them to the lowest level ( 300-500 rpm) ? Will it be a solution if he does this? Cause I am gonna get the same psu if it is possible. I am gonna use it for my current rig. (I only sold my gpu and use my old hd 5450 passive cooled card.) I also use my case side open and when I am not playing games I lower my 2 case fans to 300 rpm and I use my cpu arctic cooling pro freezer 13 cooler fan @ 500 rpm. If I only make my fan rpms faster when I am gaming, and back lower them , will I use x-460 fanless psu without too much trouble?

youll be fine dude wink.gif there will be very little heat being generated by the seasonic at your load level, so no need to worry about that. 5450s are also very efficient so i doubt youll run into problems overheating.

you might want to take your cpu down to stock depending on what your computer is for. if its just for gaming then an overclock is mostly pointless and just hurts your silent build
