New loop, Help me pick between my custom or 920/H80

Thread Starter
I'm going to be picking up a QX6850 and I most certainly plan to overclock it as far as I can get with it. I am moving to water cooling and some of these preboxed solutions are looking quite nice. I built out a custom loop and it's going to cost me about twice as much but I have a feeling I am going to get better performance out of it. The question is how much more will I see? I will only be cooling the CPU with it.

Custom loop:
Black Ice GTX 120 (Best single 120 rad I can get?)
Enzotech Sapphire block
DD-CPX-Pro pump

The advantage of going custom, is you can always mod it later down the line to include GPU's and more rads.

It also gives you a much higher dose of endorphins.

Actually, modding the hydro serties aren't that hard, just cut the loops and add both pump/block and rad to your custom setup. There are threads here about it.

Heres one:

Of course. I left those out because I figured they don't impact performance the way the block, radiator and pump do.

Look into this:

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/11..._pc=3154#blank

They make an RX version, but not at Frozencpu. The only difference is the radiator is thicker. Make sure it will fit your case if you go that way. The only thing I would consider replacing in that kit is the tube, but thats only a couple bucks a foot. Its definately more fun than the H series coolers.

Just thought I'd mention it
would it not be easier if all you want is cpu to get one of the XSPC RASA kits

I'm wanting to stick with a single 120 radiator as it will make mounting it in my case loads easier. How is the RX120 compared to the GTX 120?

If I wanted easier I'd for sure just pick up a 920 or the H80.
