i7-2600 almost-passive cooling? - Page 2

I'd push/pull a pair of 50-60mm under volted fans on the side of the cooler with a few zip ties.

You mean additionally? Wouldnt they block the 120mm's airflow?

You could easily fit a H60 in there... The block is smaller than the H50 and the rad is pretty thin as well. Mount it with two 1150rpm gentle typhoons as intake in the front there, problem solved.

If there is no room, find a different case that has it, or better internal component positioning,a s that would be cheaper than building a loop.
You could do what UnexplodedCow said above. I have an H50 with no fans and outside radiator for my home HTPC. The highest I've seen is around 50C~that is during the summer with temperature in the room at about 85F.

Its not about the block, as said, its about the radiator size. It barely fits a 120mm fan, and the radiator is bigger than that. So it would only fit outside. Wich is a future option for sure - but this is not the question right now.

Um no, they would be all flowing the same direction in the case I don't see how they would be blocking flow if they are helping move the air from the front to rear of the case, if I wasn't the worlds worst drawer I would scetch up a quick drawing, but ya I took band instead of art in school for a reason

Next week ill buy some fans, and do the modding to the case, to fit the another front 120mm, and take a picture Then we can discuss it.

I have also some toughts about a fan duct, from the 120mm fan to the heatsink.. That would lead all the air on the sink..

Or i will just cut off a bit more on the case, and fit that radiator for the H50...
If this case wouldnt be the best fit for my furniture / living room look, i would have set it on fire already...

Just some new toughts until then...

This is the stock 2600k cooler.

I mean... if this little crap can cool down to idle 30 and load 50°C, i think i dont have to worry with the Scythe star destroyer in there, with ANY fan configs... lol. (at least at stock voltage and clock)
Or am i wrong?

Ive dumped the Rasetsu project because of other clearance issues... just bought an Antec H2O 620, wich probably wont have any issues cooling the CPU silently.
Just need a bit of mod on the case now, to fit the radiator somewhere..

What`s the point of having passive cpu cooler ... if you "accept noise"?

Cpu cooler isn`t always the noisiest component.
