MacBook air new..1080P - Page 2

More likely than not you wouldn't be able to.
Maybe in due time, but for now definitely not as they were just released.

Not to mention as of recent all of the newer Macbook series used a proprietary head, so finding a screwdriver to properly take them out and replace them will not be an easy feat.

Though at the same time I'm sure there are cheap Chinese knockoffs that claim excellent results.. be really really careful with those.

Overall, I wouldn't try replacing anything. The best thing Apple has going for them imo is their Customer Support / Service. The absolute last thing you want is a voided warranty

Also, prepare for more idiotic hate... it's just OCN on a regular day. Reading and helping is hard, hating is easy.

I would bet money replacing the screen is not possible.

Enjoy the laptop. Macs are great, and the air is absolutely beautiful. Everyone telling to you to get a "real" laptop should shove it.

far better off selling it and buying one thats suited for you. If you try ANYTHING. you will lose your apple support and thats what a mac is mainly about.

OP, the screen is not upgradeable on the MBA, and trying to do so will void your warranty.

Also, on the 2011 MBA, both the SSD and the RAM are soldered on to the motherboard, making upgrading them impossible as well.

TBH, if you need more power, it maybe best to sell this and buy another laptop. Otherwise $500 for a new 13" MBA is an incredible deal.

Congrats on the great deal, no reason not to invest in a mac laptop. Portability of the airs is pretty awesome, and the solid state memory.

As for the screen I would have to agree its pretty risky.

Is it the newest model? Depending on how much you could sell it for, it might be worth looking into selling it and picking up a Macbook Pro. That is, of course, assuming that 1080p is your main goal. Otherwise, I'm sure it will be just fine at the default resolution as the screens are generally very nice.
