Large Screen vs Projector

Thread Starter
I would think it's more worth it to have a projector rather than a really large monitor/TV. Is that right?

What are some good 'gaming projectors' if such a thing exists?

Any good projector is going to run over $1000, and one that would even be decent for gaming could run multiple $1000s. They really aren't cheap at all. Plus I don't think they have very good response times, resolutions are generally really low, except the expensive ones..

Eh It might be cool to game and look at your picture the size of a wall, but it probably wouldn't look that great once you really got some time with it.

Large tv/monitor or multi monitor setup are really the best setups.

I would take a 30" IPS over a projector any day. Theyre just a pain. If you use them too much, they overheat, bulbs burn out, etc.. They're not worth it.

Actually, you can get a good 720p projector or a 1080p for less than $1000.
Have a look at these! Must be just as cheap if not cheaper in US!!!

go for multiple monitors instead, makes things easier. probably be cheaper than a projector anyway.

If you're unable to fully control the room lighting, a projector isn't a good choice at all. The biggest knock on projectors is brightness, so if you're not planning on playing in a darkened room, you won't be satisfied. With that said, I have a 63" plasma, but never play pc games on it because it's just not practical. It's fine for PS3 games with a controller, but there's just no way to have a good setup with a keyboard and mouse without some dorky room setup. If this is for pc gaming, I'd go no bigger than 27".

My bad. I expected projectors to have much higher resolutions due to their huge 'screen' size. I never really investigated...

Also, I didn't think they would be quite so expensive!

Anyhow, thanks for all the help! I almost was going to buy a projector!
