[VG364]Battlefield 3 Pre-Orders Almost The Same As Black Ops - Page 4

It's not because it's BF3 that the community will be any better than COD, you just have to see on BF2 when half your team is waiting for the jet to spawn and TK each other until one can get it. Those same guys respawn and wait for the jet to reappear and repeat the same cycle indefinitely.

I quote from another forum:
I never insinuated this, I simply outlined the gameplay mechanics that add to Battlefield TDM that is not present in COD TDM. That is what will make the team play better.

The fact that those mechanics are actually large elements of basic gameplay automatically gives BF3 an edge over the COD game that has none.

Each class needs another in order to truly dominate.

I fully recognise that people will be air heads and not play to the best of their abilities, but in my experience of BC2, I generally am able to get into at least a bit of good team play. Med/Ammo boxes are always around in relevant action areas, people do revive and engis do repair.

Its not always to my taste, but it is there. Sometimes a lot, sometimes not enough, but the fact remains that it exists in BF, whereas it does not in COD.

Also, BF2 is five years old and does not benefit from many of the streamlining or tweaking that DICE have done in recent games to improve upon their games.

I highly doubt that DICE will have implemented the exact same shortcomings that people have complained about since a game they made five years ago.

BF1942 was the reason I started PC gaming and I have not missed any game in the series. I can't wait for this to come out so I can build a new rig strictly to own.

If any of you wanna kill noobs with me:

With no objective other than kills, the intensive for team-play largely goes out the window. Although initially I facepalmed when i read that BF3 had TDM, it provides a game mode that will likely draw in all the CoD kids. Rather have that then the number of BC2 rounds where more than half the team has never tried to arm/disarm or cap flags in their life.

I bet it would have been more if BF3 were available on Steam.

I think we've only seen the tip of the iceberg as far as mulitplayer goes because we have yet to see jets and helicopter plays...etc which is a big part of the BF series.

Every time you see the developers talk about this game, its like they're as blown away by the technology as everyone else. I can't wait to see what else is in store. Frankly, I was all anxious about it not being enough like BF2, but after watching a lot of the alpha test footage yesterday, frankly I could care less. This game is going to be really really good, particularly on PC's.

And whoever said its a console port needs to go back to playing COD. I don't think they've said it enough times that it is first an foremost a pc game. Second, BC2 is not exactly a comsole ported game. While both the console and pc versions are similar in format (game modes, weapon classes) the difference in quality and gameplay is huge on any half-decent rig.

PC, on the other hand....
I hate COD as much as the next, but you sound awfully condescending. Maybe you should take a break from the internet.

WOW!

There are ~160 million console gamers world wide... COD routinely sells ~20 million copies across all platforms including PC.

That equates to less than 12.5% of console gamers buy COD.

So where did you get that 86% of console gamers would shun BF3 when less than 12.5% would show potential interest in it.

Its good to know that the Canadian education system is no better than our own.

I'm waiting to pre-order because another limited edition with more unlockables could be sold.
Pre-ordering now or in October when everything is sorted out, is all the same.

I'm pretty sure he meant 86% of the console gamers that buy it and play it will shun it for MW3. Which seems ridiculous to me btw.

Your decent at math but you suck at reading comprehension.

I don't see how preorder numbers mean anything. Most people who buy COD don't even preorder because there is never a shortage of the game on release (in my area at least).
