upgrade

Thread Starter
Hi i don't know if this is the right section to make a new thread such this but anyway , an admin can transfer it !

So, i want to upgrade my pc's hardware as my pc is getting "old" .
My pc right now :
Intel Core 2 duo 3 ghz
Msi p43-c51 motherboard
8 gb kingston ram DDR3
465 gb SATA II
Asus Ati radeon 5850 1gb
Monitor : Samsung SyncMaster931BW
Creative 5.1

Can anyone suggest me any products to upgrade ! I am thinking of an AMD processor but which of them ? AMD Phenom x6?
Tell me also about Hard drivers ! Worth it to take a SSD ?
Tell me what to keep and what to upgrade !

Thanks a lot

Do you have a budget and what do you use your PC for?
It looks like you will be able to keep your RAM, Hard Drive, monitor, speakers and your graphics card. In terms of upgrades a CPU and motherboard upgrade would provide a good performance boost. I would recommend either a phenom II x4 or if you are willing to stay with intel a i5 2500k would be even better and is great for overclocking.

for gaming and programming or anything for the matter of fact, nothing can beat intel core i5 2500k in terms of price to performance ratio....
pair it with a nice z68 motherboard and u r set....
and no need to change gfx card...its enough for now...

here r the links for the processor and motherboard(i know u r from greece,so these r just to show u the model)

yes low m/s is good for gaming in order to prevent ghosting during fast paced scenes. Something like this should be fine -

i'm just not sure whether amazon are able to ship to greece.

I'm terms of hard drives a small SSD (about 40-60gb) for windows and a larger hard drive such as the sansung spinpoint f3 mentioned above for games, programs and other files would provided a good performance increase and speed up startup and program load times.
