M8 vs T10 | Newbie needs help!

post #1 of 6
Thread Starter
Hey everyone.

I'm in the market for a new case + WC setup (this thread is for the former).

I saw the M8 & T10 and they're both absolutely STUNNING!!!

I was wondering if you would be as kind as to help me select the case + options?

Quick overview:

Support for 9x 3.5" HDDs (this can be lowered to 7)
-> each bay should have a fan blowing on it.

Support for 2x 2.5" SSD
-> fan... not so important.

Support for 2x 5.25" Optical Drive
-> BR-R & BR-RW

Support for 1x 360 Rad (maybe two)
-> Planning on CPU + 2 Video Cards (GTX 470 SLI)

Support for 1x Reservoir
-Preferably Cylindrical

Support for 1x Pump

At the moment, I have a regular ATX board, but do plan on going Dual Socket when LGA2011 is released. I'd like to future proof as much as I can.

I've never water-cooled beyond a corsair H50 nor have I purchased any "high" end case such as these.

Your support is MUCH appreciated!

Welcome to OCN and the funny farm!

XNine would be your best bet regarding the M8.

Based of of you wanting to go dual cpu, you will need a case with the "h" designator such as the MH10 or TH10. The other don't have the motherboard tray length. All of your specifics are covered with either of those when you add an SSD bracket and a couple more HDD racks since the cases come with only one.

So either the MH10 or TH10, add one SSD mount, and add 2 HDD racks and you are covered on you needs.

For what you have now an M8 is plenty, for future proofing for dual 2011, get the TH10
