Need info on cables and wires for HTPC.

Hi all,

I am in the process of concealing the HTPC, LCD and all other electronic equipment's wires/cables along with it into the wall, along with this my HTPC/Gaming computers wires/cables as well. What all kinds of different wires will be going out from an HTPC? I am still in the process of acquiring all the parts to build a high performance HTPC. I guess there will be one HDMI cable going from the graphic card for both audio and video right? And there will be one CAT6 Cable for internet. Anything else??

I need to know this, so that i can conceal all these wires/cables and put wall plates for them.. currently all these wires and cables have their dedicated wall plates, such as 7.1 wallplate, Cat6 wall plate, Guage plates HDMI plates, A/V Banana Plug wall plates etc.

What other cables/wires go out from the HTPC?? ALso if i plan to integrate a high end audio card in my htpc.. what cable is that going to be??

If your cards support sound over HDMI(most do) then thats fine...
Make sure you have proper cooling in both systems you dont want them to blow up and take the wall with them

It'll depend on how you setup your system.

What are you going to be using from the parts in your HTPC?

Ha. my apologies, i missed "wires" in my previous post.
When i meant concealing htpc and lcd, i mean the wires/cables coming out of them into the wall, and connecting them through a wall plate.
What other wires go out from the htpc??
No, the equipment's remain out, only the wires/cables stay concealed.

I have already brought the parts. I know people in this section may find it an over kill, but i will be using this computer for graphic designing and serious video editing and conversions.

Processors : i7 2600K SandyBridge.
MotherBoard : ASUS Maximus IV Extreme Sandy Bridge ROG
Memory : G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB DDR3 1333 CAS : 7
PSU : CORSAIR Professional Series Gold AX850
Cooling : Air
Case : CaseLabs TX10 (Pre-Ordered already, waiting for the release).
Graphic card : Not decided yet.
Multimedia Station :
Sound card : ASUS Xonar Essence STX

I wont be gaming on my computer, but i do need a powerful enough graphic card capable enough to take any graphic or media needs. Suggest something for that too..

The A/V reciever i have is Pioneer Elite SC-37.
HT speakers are Definitive Technology Mythos ST series and Epik Empire Subs.

thanks for your reply. Yes its a Logitech wireless MX keyboard/mouse combo.
I have made the wall plate for power cord for the computer.
Just trying to make everything look clean and professional.

And as a recommendation, I would pipe the sound just through your mobo. Use the digital audio out to your receiver.

everything you need for A/V in your house you can easily find here for cheaper than anywhere else. and if your HTPC is going to sit in the cabinet right below the TV, just make 2 cutouts and insert these and these, instead of plated and other stuff, ou can hide cables and connect your componets directly.
