I've mostly played COD with friends and when you're a competitive player, you'll wreck a team all by yourself. Put 2 of those in the same team with voice chat and you've got instant rape (yes, I've killed off lots of servers with one of my friends). Those 2 players on different teams will instead compete and most likely make for a fairly even match. Regarding friends telling friends about enemy positions: Well, yes, it happens, but it's rare(ish) in pub games. Remember, game devs optimize for pub play and gamers on pubs generally don't have good voice comm (if any), so it's not a big issue. Also, people often want their team to win, so not all people tell where the rest of the players are (since that'll lose them the round).

But yes, we all want to have a squad of coordinated players, but that's often an unfair advantage, seen from a pub perspective.
Oh okay just making sure i wasn't nuts. And yeah i hear where you're coming from... but you know what it balnaces it self out if you make a system like that... Give players rank.. And like how you said everyone wants to play with a squad of coordinated players.. So more or less you won't see anybody trying to play by themselves. honestly i hate playing by myself its a lot more fun with friends we laugh and get things done... I hate playing with random people with no communication... can't count the number of times i've been in a squad full of recons on rush.. when we're the ... ATTACKERS lol... If there was a pre squad system than all the good players would play together.. but than again that's making the game to much like the consoles i suppose? I love the idea of server broswer so you can find a game that YOU actually want to play but I also love the idea of matchmaking where i'm put up against another team who is all trying to play serious with their squad.. and not just a bunch of random people thrown on a team with no communication that kills the game. I could understand if that was how pubilc games were played fine.. you don't really want to buckle down and take it to serious you're "ranked" out for the day you just want to play casually... I mean why make a gametype like squad deathmatch if you're not going to just throw random people together, and not let people who want to play together do so...

Side note i notice you keep on saying pub by some chance am i just derping? and not hitting like a ranked mode where all my rants are granted?

That's what I've always done with my group. Works fine.

But in any case, it shouldn't be bad to just join an empty squad. On every server I have played on so far, there have been at least 2 completely empty squads.

I've actually once had a team where I couldn't join any squads because people lone wolfed and locked the squads with only 1 player while the remaining squads were filled...

This.

Or very similar problems where people will be all scattered around. Well from this thread i see everybody has different ideals. I just think its a tad silly to push a Squad system. and not support 4 man squad server joins... like they do in console version... and i just personally hope this gets adressed in BF3. I just do not enjoy playing with random people who don't want to take squad gaming serious let alone the game itself.. that's all fine and dandy for public but for ranked i'd like to win and not be stuck with the option to spawn from base far from battle.. or spawn an island even further away from action

Every time I play with my friend, we were always placed in the same squad. I wonder if that has anything to do with your friend being on your friend's list on BC2

Well yeah when they join off of you they try to put you guys in the same squad.
Could be that and a little bit of luck... and server rules... not all of the auto-balance
