Need help with new build

Thread Starter
It's been a long time since I've had this computer and it's simply a drag now..can't do much other than surf the web. Can't really play any games without lagging, etc..

Current Specs:
AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ (1024KB L2 Cache, SOCKET AM2) at 2299MHz (200MHz FSB)
6GB of DDR2 Ram
ASUS M2V Motherboard
512 MB Radeon X1600 Series VGA
Windows 7 (Home Premium)
250 GB Hitachi harddrive
23 Inch Acer monitor

I recently bought a new fan and case so these two parts won't be needed
Case: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...320&CatId=1520
Heatsink: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...4261&CatId=798

Requests:
I'd like for the system to be based on Intel's i5-2500k (or i7-2600k if possible for the budget) - i want to be able to OC it a bit, but nothing extreme. (i dont know much about ocing but I hear you can go into the bios and crank it up a bit)

My budget is ~700$ max, and I have a ten percent off my first order at Newegg (if that helps?). so if someone could really help me out that would be awesome. i don't have much of an idea on new parts and stuff.

I always have a ton of programs open at a time (Photoshop, dreamweaver, itunes, browsers, IRC, rainmeter, etc)

Edit: I should say upgrade.. not build a new PC.. I guess it doesn't matter :\\

thanks again guys

I'd also like to be run both MMORPG and disc games like SC2 at max settings.

thanks in advance.. i really appreciate it.

edit: i should say upgrade in the title..but i don't think it matters much :\\
thanks again

Is there a Microcenter near you? If so they have very good prices. If not, have a look:

CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115072" $215
MB: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813138317 130$
Memory: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231303 $45
PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...NG&PageSize=20 $95.00
Video Card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102913 $180.00

Excellent gaming rig for around $700 after taxes.

If you dont need a PSU i'd invest in a SSD for your OS and use your other hard drive for media/games.
