Is one exhaust fan enough? - Page 2

no it's not enough

with that case, i would do this:
rear and 1-2 top exhausts (2-3 exhausts total)
front and 2 side intakes (3 intakes)

Why wont you guys listen to me when I tell you you need to match exhaust and intake cfm? I mean, I know its a hassle, thats why I havent done it, but just look at my fan speeds, im sure you will find something similar(albeit on a smaller scale, because of my high cfm floor fans)
because 95% of the ppl in here just follow precoinceived rules and dont think a little bit more.. because they think that 1 intake regardless of size IN FRONT of the hard drives can provided the necesary ariflow to a big box..

because they think that back exhaust + top exhaust its the best because "heat rise" and they dont see they are just creating a hot pocket around the cpu/vrm area

btw, "heat rise" in a open calm not influenced by any variable state !!

heat/cold air in a computer case goes where you push it.. plain and simple

exhaust?? really?? what are they going to exhaust.. hot air?? air from where, the front intake fan restricted by a wall of hard drives/mesh/bays and whatnot??

wich leads me to the answer, the same you gave: balanced airflow.. balanced.. flow of air

dont believe me?? watch a rack mounted server case.. see how airflow works there (front to back)
