will amd radeon 6870 bottleneck?

i think it's time for me to upgrade my i3 3.75ghz
8gb 1333mhz
sapphire 6870

switching this to amd phenom 965
and GIGABYTE AM3 GA-880GMA-UD2H motherboard

motherboard came last year 2010 out... april or so not sure

is it good?

games i play
COD MW 2
combat arms
AVA

how much fps increse should i expect?

I'm not sure about the fps increase but my 965 will push my 6970 to 98% load so you will be fine on the bottleneck aspect.

Nope, its currently running stock to lower the heat output. It is hot in Texas right now.

The Phenom II is fine with any single GPU. It can't really handle 2 GPUs.

You'll reach the limit of the GPU before your CPU in most games, though some ports won't max either. Fine combination.

i have a athlon 250 along with my 6870, and it really bottlenecks it. But, in some games that cant use more than two cores im having 98% load so its good I guess

The mobo you r about to take is very good and overclocking friendly.

You cant imagine the heat here in Greece!!!

i saw the benchmarks.. pretty dissapointing...
even intel i3 is almost same as phenom 965....
i might get i5 2500k and new motherboard

going from an i3 to 965 is kinda like a sidegrade or a little upgrade....so dont bother...
