I currently have a 22inch 1080p VIZIO HDTV but there are a couple things I don't like about it. It has a lot of light bleeding around the edges, poor color accuracy, and overscales so that I can only run my PC at 1768 x 1014.

I'm looking at upgrading this to an LED back-lit monitor and considering some 3D options for either my PC and/or PS3. My budget is $500 and I'm not in a big rush.

I was originally considering waiting until the SONY 3D PlayStation TV comes out in late Nov (hard because there are no reviews yet). This would obviously support 3d games on the PlayStation but I'm am assuming Nvidia 3d vision would not work (as it probably repeats the frames as apposed to producing true 120/240hz). 3D on the PC would be more important to me than 3d with the PS3. Nvidia now has 3DTV play but it limits the 1080p refresh rate to 24hz (obviously made for videos and not gaming). After looking a little more I found two similar sets of software, Tridef and iZ3d. Does anyone know if these support PC gaming at 1080p with a 60hz refresh rate? Would this work well for PC gaming? I here punkbuster may kick people for using 3d software.

Of course my other option would be to go with a true 120hz PC monitor... As I said before PC gaming is a little more important to me and I know I could get Nvidia 3d vision then if wanted to. This may be a slightly cheaper option but would support 3d on the PS3. I am wondering if this would allow me to get frame rates above 60 in some games (but I have to warn you screen tearing really gets to me so I usually use Vsync).

Does anyone have experience with 3DTVs vs 3D monitors... what would be a better option and what would work best for 2D PC gaming?
