HELP! I Failed Sleeving - Page 3

hmm....use your atx pin extraction tool to squeeze the tabs and go behind it with something to pull it out

That's what I'm planning to do, except that those tabs are pretty damn hard to push in, which is how I got the wire pulled out in the first place

So how exactly do you use a crimper? How do you take out the pin with a jewelers screwdriver? I'm this close to just buying a sleeved extension now. Sleeving everything else is fine, but the 24 pin is really ticking me off

The crimper just squeezes the metal tabs of the pin onto the exposed wire. Always give it a little tug to make sure its on there.

Also, it is too late now for the sleeved extension route. You need to fix the 24 pin either way. Might as well continue sleeving your own.

Here is a basic little video I found showing one of the ways to remove an atx pin:

The pins are damn near impossible to take off, all these guides make it look so easy

The easiest way really will be to purchase a small screwdriver. Put the screwdriver in on one side of the pin and turn it (what you are doing by turning it is pushing in the wings on the pin) and then do the same on the other side and the pin should fall out. There's a bit more force when using a screwdriver so it bends the pins much more than a pin removal tool will.
