i5 2500k @4.5Ghz 1.344 vC [Pretty much set!]

Edit: I had a lot of stuff about a great OC I thought I achieved but in the end I was messing up. vDroop is what made my vC so low for the first time. After fixing it, I'm boot/ibt stable with 1.344v. Which is not golden at all :/

Temps are great though. I have 2 case fans only, and the front one doesnt move much air. My Hyper 212+ only has one fan as well. After IBT (Won't get much higher than this ever) my temps max were:
61-66-69-66.

Core #0 appears to be the cold head on the group. But he has the worst temper because he is the one who fails with low voltage tongue.gif!

Thanks for anyone who joined me on this noob adventure. I think 1.344 will be the sweet spot for me. Plan on doing some stress testing tomorrow for 18 hours or so and call it a day on OCing ..for now smile.gif Next step: Watercooling biggrin.gif

Haha that's just stupid. It happened as I said. As Turbo goes off. My vCore goes to 1.33v! With 1.6ghz hahahahaha biggrin.gif! I will leave all Turbo stuff off as according to this guide:

http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/cpus/2011/01/07/how-to-overclock-the-intel-core-i5-2500k/4

But won't mess with BLCK as I hear it's a no-no.

But with 4.5ghz at 1.28vCore. 30 minutes of prime, IBT, and gaming = ok ok. That's good enough for real life use I guess. Temps are great

Damn, 4.5 @ 1.28v is awesome. I would disable turbo and set your multiple to 45 and bump up your vcore and just use that speed all the time, your chip will stay real cool at that voltage.

Nice chip. Mine requires a pretty big jump in vcore before it'll go from 4.4 to 4.5. Hmm, I should really download Touch BIOS to do some testing. Getting kind of tired of going in and out of my actual BIOS to check my current setup.

Its pretty good not sure if I would say golden. My first chip did 4.4 at 1.275v

Honestly though 30 minutes of prime is really nothing at all. You need to do more then that to call it really stable.

Yeah, I also tend to agree with this. I like to try at least 18 hours of Prime in standard blend before I'm willing to call my chip stable. I've had errors show up after 10-14 hours before.

Update:

Here is what I did. I disabled all turbo stuff, just left Real Time Ratio Change on OS enabled.

Put the vCore at 1.28 and of course, I bsoded at the welcome screen (Silly me).

Now I got the vCore at 1.32, booted. But here is the thing. My multi dropped automatically to 34, even at 100% load! Is it because the Real Time bla bla bla?

Can somebody tell me what is Multi Load Line something (Left it off).

You need turbo on. Thats how it overclocks and thats why you aren't going over 3.4ghz. SB overclocks via turbo, turn it back on!

CPU-Z reads VCCIO for me. Havent checked Speedfan. Maybe Gigabytes issue?

I said it was stable? If I did I'm sorry, I meant stable into the OS and some quick gaming. With wrong values it would just pop a bsod instantly. Dont know if Prime really is so reliable, some people test 18 hours with prime and end up bsoding at the desktop. This CPU world is crazy.

Oh I see! Leave the ratios to 45 on all cores then is that right? Thanks!
