i5 2500k @4.5Ghz 1.344 vC [Pretty much set!] - Page 3

Nice OC =) I have it at 1.29 but thats cause i just picked a random number and didnt bother lowering it anymore, maybe next week ill try messing with it but 1.29 is fine vcore.

As for testing, idk how you guys can manage a 12 or 18hr prime test *___________* that is so lonnnnnnnnng. But i guess its required, I personally do a quick 5 run IBT to see if it holds, then ill do a 20run on max, then a 3hr prime and then a game or 2.

You can safetly keep Intel Speedstep and C1E to enabled without it effecting your overclock. With those on, it allows the cpu to downlock when it's not under load, it's a neat feature that can help overall temps and the longitivity of your CPU. I recommend leaving it on

C3 and C6 reports are quite wierd, some have reported better stability with them on auto, whilst it's been noted that disabling them has helped idle bsods which can be caused by using offset voltages. I say leave them on auto for now and then play around and see which works best for you.

Hope that helps

Haha, yeah, it is a long time.

I generally set it overnight and make sure I have something to occupy my time when I wake up. It isn't always necessary to do 18 hours of prime though. At the end of the day, if your system can do what you want it to do without BSODing, then it really doesn't matter how long anyone chooses to test their chip.

Guys. A weird thing just happened. My PC hibernated, and when I got back, it wouldn restore, so I rested it and it boot looped

Turned PSU off, then back on and started the pc again, and it just freezed after post screen..

Now I loaded back to optimized defaults and here I am talking to you. What can it be? Bad OC? Buggy BIOS? Regular error?

Disabel PLL overvoltage, it doesn't play well with the sleep function.

Will do that. And will re-enable EIST and C1 as by your recommendation.

I'll update everyone on how it is tomorrow. 1.344 should be pretty stable and I'm getting clean temps on the mids 60c with 100% load through stress testing!

Thanks to everyone, y'all have been great

Are you using the most recent BIOS update? I know on the P67a-UD7, a BIOS update was necessary to correct the hibernation/loop issue.

When you get some time be sure to check out the table I compiled in the Sandy Stable Club for overclocking, temperture, voltage and cooling reference. link is in my sig.

Good luck with the overclocks

Edit: Oops I'm not! F6 is out. Will try flashing it see how it goes. I guess I wont resist the urge to OC again. I think I'll disable sleep at all to have no problems.

Thank you! I sure did, thats how I came up with 1.344 and figured out my temps were a-ok ! I'll leave it stress testing when I get to work on monday and then maybe I can join the club!

Just ran IBT @ 4.5Ghz with 1.344 vcc

61-66-69-66

I'll run a few hours of prime but I think it will be stable since the volts is quite high.
