Gigabyte Z68P-DS3 and display problem

Thread Starter
so I just bought this board today and hooked it up, I'm using the on board IGP and it's connected with a hdmi to an old LG 24" Flatron LCD(I bought this lcd when 24" lcd just came out so like a grand) The problem I have is that everything is shifted to the left and I have 1 big black bar on the right side of my screen, I played around with the resolutions and settings but it doesn't help much, tried reinstalling drivers but the same. the max my lcd goes is 1920x1200 it was working fine when I used it on my 7900GT CO like an hour ago. got any ideas? I would use the 7900GT CO but it artifacts like crazy when running anything 3D at fullscreen been like this for years just never bothered RMAing it with EVGA.

If there is an option in your display driver to disable EDID / auto-detection of your monitor you can use that. Otherwise we will need the model # of your monitor.

You can fix your 7900GT by baking it in the oven.

The Model # is L246WP made by LG, I didn't see any options in the drivers to disable autodetect. and your joking about baking the 7900GT right?

No, he wasn't joking. The reason your (and my 7900GS) are dead is because the graphics chip has become unsoldered. Sticking it in the oven will melt the solder balls back into place theoretically and fix whatever problems there are.
