I agree with the previous suggestions. I'd use the 100$ for a SSD or the 580. 2500k is freaking fast on a mild oc even.

Hyper Threading won't help for gaming since you won't have an idle pipeline for it to use. I also think that you're overspending on the motherboard and power supply. While it's nice to have them, the money can give you a better return elsewhere. I could have a GTX580 in your build at the same budget and end up with a faster computer than you have listed.
Edit: Btw, if you're going to spend that much on a cooler, you might as well get a Noctua.
Okay, thanks for your post. I decided to switch to the i5-2500k, and the Samsung Spinpoint F3. I am not sure if I should get the GTX 580 or get an SSD.

For gaming go 580. You can always add an SSD later.

Get both because you don't need a $250 case, a $244 motherboard, or a $150 power supply. Honestly, ask yourself what those are going to do for you in regards to real world returns. It's eating up way too much of your budget, IMO.

Agreed, especially if you are not planning on an extreme overclock from the getgo. That is a pretty case though.

Good idea going with the 2500k and spinpoint f3. I agree with sccr that you are throwing money away getting those, I don't really see why that case is $250, it looks a lot worst than some cases I have seen out there and for more than 2X the cost. I would go with the Antec lanboy, There is a wicked deal on the red one now on Newegg. Ya I know, rebate *bleck*. I would also suggest a Corsair tx750. works great and you get a lot for your money. I'm happy with mine. I don't really know what to suggest for a motherboard, it depends on what you are looking for, just save your money on what you can and get a better graphics card.

The gene iv is good goes for the same price as P8P67 Pro which I would have suggested.

Just remember that the Gene iv is mATX so you need a case that is compatible.
I would suggest something like the Cooler Master 690 II Advanced or Thermaltake Chaser Mk-1 if you were ever to go with ATX motherboard in the future. Perhaps Raven rv03 even?
