Best filter material

Thread Starter
Just wondering what would be suitable for using as filter material.
The DEMCi filters are nice but expensive, more than I am willing to spend in anycase, so I was thinking of making my own out of some magnetic sheet from a craft supplier and hot glueing the filter material on to the cut out I make.
Panty hose material sprung to mind however I am thinking when its stretched out under tension it will collapse the magnetic sheet. So being a fan of the KISS method I am looking for an alternative that will be easier to work with. Something that will not obstruct too much airflow but will keep a majority of dust out of my 932 case. (ideas anyone?)
I am thinking something like shade screen mesh might work or perhaps aluminium flyscreen??
I know there have been other topics <searched I did> on similar topics but has anyone actually used any of these items for the purpose I intend and did it work ok?

I could do that but I want to use magnetic sheet so its easily removable to clean and blow out with a compressor, looking at the list provided I might try and find some PU sheet and make some up.
Or I might even try the shade cloth idea.

When I had my HAF 922 I went with panty hose. It is very cheap and are actually easy to use. You can simply put a screw through it to hold it in place. It holds up to an air compressor and like I said earlier very cheap to replace.

Hi,

Vacumm cleaner air inlet filters work good.

Designed for minimal air flow restriction while filtering out the bad guys.

Comes in different thickness and sizes as to make or model.

Easy cut out to area and clean.
Better at filtering than any thin mesh.

Down size-Looks if visible.

What is so good about these Demci filters, I might get some as I have 2 cats, a dog, and no where to put it but the ground.

I'm dusting out my PC once a month at worst for the hair and dust bunnies, and even doing that my boards are coated with dust that I already know is never going to be cleanable.

I have a CM690 and while its a great case and it even has some basic screens, they don' really work.

http://www.coolermaster-usa.com/prod...roduct_id=2710

For one massive amounts of dust gets in from the bottom, get lodged in the top, etc...

I need some massive filters to cover the entire bottom and front panels, maybe just try to get some foam and slice it up? I think that would work better for me then demci.

Time to go and raid some panty drawers?

This is extremely tempting.
