Quick question on a GPU upgrade - is it worthy ? - Page 3

AMD's APU processor is basically what intel with their integrated HD 3000 graphics. It basically put a GPU and CPU into 1 chip. So APUs are capapble of running fairly solid graphics on the mid-end area. Then you can combine the APU to run crossfire with a dedicated GPU to get even better performance. I've been curious about the APU chips ever since I heard about them.

i got a 1.9ghz dual core am2 athlon 3600 here you can have for next to nothing.
though id still wait if i was in your shoes,ddr2 is more expensive than ddr3.
so 4gb of ddr3 should be the first port of call, then a mobo/cpu combo from the for sale section here or online sites in your native country.
your graphics card is pci-express or agp?

I own a 4 yr old Geforce 7600GS 256 MB PCI-E card and looking to upgrade the same to play some new games.. problem here is i want to do this without having to upgrade my CPU/mobo/RAM/PSU

My current system spec.

DC Output (Max)
+3.3V +5V +12V -12V +5VSB
24A 26A 22A 0.8A 2.0A

I'm looking @ cards like GT 440 / GTS 450 / GTX 460 / GTS 250

Please let me know the best card that would suit my current PC..
I hear people saying it would not make any sense at all to pick any of these cards without upgrading the CPU & mobo & RAM ! (which i really really cant afford & dont wish)

and others say the 500 W doesn't matter.. its the amp rating & my PSU will not handle any of these cards and would just burst!

Anxiously waiting for your inputs.. thanks !
Brother zebronics makes crappy psu,
it will destory a gtx460 because of its bad quality.
Plus gtx460 will be severely bottlenecked by your cpu.
Get a gts450/hd6750 & your psu will run these two cards.
Don't take the risk of running a gtx460 with that psu.
Hope this helps.
If you are from India then I must say you won't easily find AMD A8 3850 apu plus you need a FM1 socket mobo which will cost you a lot in India.
Btw,I'm also an Indian so this is from my personal experiance.
