he suggests me the zotac gts 250 ....
local dealer is trying to trick you into buying a gpu that will be bottlenecked by your current singlecore.

First, buy a used socket 939 dualcore Athlon 64 X2 5000+
then upgrade your gpu to 9800GT, GT240 or HD4670
That will be cheaper than changing both motherboard and cpu.

It doesn't worth waiting for Llano chips,
a phenomII x4 955 is a more powerful cpu than a Llano apu,
remember,Llano apu consits an integrated gpu as well as a cpu,so if u consider the raw cpu performence of a llano then phenomII x4 will beat them.
Go with a phenomII x4 955,msi hd6770,asus m4a88tm le,4gb corsair vengeance.

In this case, I presume we must be giving importance to the +12v power supply connector on the motherboard right ? all the models that we have seen have only a 4-pin connector next to the cpu !
Don't you all think a 8-pin connector is required for a 125w CPU ?

No,no,it'll work fine even with a 4pin connector,you'll need 8pin connector only when you'll do some crazy overclocking,but crazy OC is not possible in Indian temparature.
So,4pin connector is fine.
Since you are going with the 125w version I highly recommend you the asus m4a88tm le mobo.

If a 4 pin is fine.. then the only difference that I find between the M4N68T-M LE V2 & M4A88T-M LE is that the latter has a very strong on-board graphics with dual independent display output support.. which will just simply be a waste since Im installing a discrete GPU !
+
i need a mobo with atleast 2 pci slots !

-----

Also, how about these mobo's. All these support the 955 be. any cost effective one from the list ?

M5A78L
M5A78L LE
M5A78L/USB3
M5A78L-M/USB3

Thats not true,
asus m4a88tm le has better & more power phase design,thus the phenomII x4 955 will run more stable & as I told you before,if you run 125w cpu on asus m4n68tm le you may face some stability issue.
Among all the mobos you listed the asus m4a88tm le beats them all & has the most powerful & advanced chipset.
Pls asus m4a88tm le will OC better than any other mobo you listed.

Yes,better & advanced chipset is very important,it gives better performence(you can ask any enthusiast about this).
Well in kolkata asus m4a88tm le costs rs3800,
if you really can't afford it then go with asus m5a78l le.

Okay.. let me put it this way..

these are the chipsets available for the am3 socket from AMD right..?

Gigabyte:

890GX 890FX 880G 870
790GX 790FX 790X 785G
770 760G 740G

Asus:
* AMD 740G/SB700 * AMD 760G/SB710 * AMD 770/SB700 * AMD 770/SB710
* AMD 780G/SB700 * AMD 780G/SB710 * AMD 785G/SB710 * AMD 790FX/SB750
* AMD 790X/SB750 * AMD 790GX/SB750 * AMD 870/SB850 * AMD 880G/SB710
* AMD 880G/SB850 * AMD 890FX/SB850 / 890GX/SB850

Which are the chipsets that I can possibly consider, keeping in mind a budget of 85 - 95 USD for the mobo ?

880g/sb710
785g/sb 710
780/sb710
760g/sb710
740g/sb700
will come under your budget.
But dont get a 740g chipset,its a crap,all the chipsets under your budget other than 880g are actually AM2+ chipset(but they are revised as AM3)
880G is the only AM3 chipset within your budget.
Go with 880g
